Karina Ochoa Muñoz is currently a Full Professor and Researcher (Category C) in the Department of Sociology within the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Azcapotzalco campus. She is also a member of the core faculty of the PhD Programme in Feminist Studies at the Xochimilco campus and coordinates the Rural Sociology stream of UAM-A's Master's and PhD Programme in Sociology. Professor Ochoa Muñoz is a Level II member of Mexico's National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores e Investigadoras, SNII) and is widely recognised as one of the leading voices in the decolonial feminist movement of Abya Yala. She is also a co-founder of the Network on Feminism(s), Culture and Power: Dialogues from the South and a member of the Decolonial International Network (DIN).
